Pet households get their own Triflex. The HX2 Cat & Dog keeps the exchangeable 2500 mAh battery, the HEPA lifetime filter and the 8-pound weight of the HX1, then adds two things a pet household will use every day: a MultiFloor XXL electrobrush with BrilliantLight, a row of LEDs that shows hair and dust on dark floors, and the HX-EC 20 Electro Compact brush, a small motor-driven head for upholstery, stairs and the dog bed. The BrilliantLight is the light over the stove: you do not think about it until you cook without one.

Why we like it
- The HX-EC 20 Electro Compact brush has its own motor, so it lifts hair out of sofa cushions, stair carpet and car seats rather than pushing it around the way a plain upholstery nozzle does.
- BrilliantLight on the floorhead: on dark hardwood, pet hair is invisible until the LEDs hit it, and then it is embarrassing how much there was.
- HEPA lifetime filtration, which with pets means dander stays in the bin instead of coming out the back of the machine at nose height.
- Compact mode, with the PowerUnit alone and the HX-EC 20 attached, is a handheld pet-hair tool that weighs a fraction of the full machine.
Think twice if
- You have no pets and no upholstery problem. The Triflex HX1 Facelift Plus is the same HEPA cordless without the compact brush or the lights, for less.
- You want a second battery so a dog-hair day does not end at the 30-minute mark. The Triflex HX2 Pro includes an additional battery, a charging tray and a hard-floor care tool.
- Your pet lives on wall-to-wall carpet. A cordless with a 0.5-liter bin is not that machine; the Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog or Classic C1 Cat & Dog with the SEB 228 electrobrush is.

Miele's manufacturer warranty applies to this Triflex HX2 because Avon Vacuums is an authorized Miele dealer; register it with Miele when it arrives, which takes less time than the first charge. Orders of $75 and up ship free to the contiguous U.S., and most leave our shop within 2 to 3 business days. We take returns for 30 days on factory-sealed, unused machines, with return shipping paid by the buyer. A machine that has been used falls under Miele's warranty instead, and we manage the claim with you.
Questions customers ask us
What is the HX-EC 20 for?
Upholstery, stairs, pet beds, car interiors: anywhere a full-width floorhead will not go and a plain nozzle will not lift hair. It is motor-driven and clips onto the PowerUnit or the wand.
How long does it run with the pet tools attached?
Miele publishes 30 minutes on low and 14 minutes on high with an electrical accessory attached, and up to 60 minutes on low with no powered tool. Charging takes about 240 minutes.
Is the battery the same as the HX1?
Both are exchangeable 2500 mAh lithium-ion batteries in the Triflex family. If you want a spare, we can order it.
Does the BrilliantLight matter on light floors?
Less. It earns its keep on dark wood, slate and black tile, where hair and dust hide in plain sight. On a pale floor you will notice it mostly at dusk.
