Fifteen inches of automatic head for the long straight run
Where the X7 is a 12-inch head, the Automatic X8 Wide Track puts the same automatic height system behind a 15-inch powerhead with a 14.5-inch cleaning path. A 15-inch head is the belt sander to the X7's palm sander: it takes down a big open surface fast, and you do not bring it into the corners. Everything else carries over from the X series, including the 1300-watt motor, the 40-foot cord, the 1.4-gallon bag and the 69 dBA sound level.

Why we like it
- Three inches of extra width sounds like nothing until you count passes across a 20-foot family room; the X8 finishes in roughly four out of every five passes the X7 needs.
- The automatic height adjustment works the same way it does on the X7: a sensor reads the carpet and the brush roller moves to suit, so a wider head does not mean a harder machine to run.
- Same 1.4-gallon bag and 40-foot cord as the rest of the X series, so it is built for the long session, not the quick touch-up.
- S-class filtration is standard and HEPA is available, and the 69 dBA rating is shared with the narrower X7.
Think twice if
- If your rooms are furnished edge to edge, the 12-inch X7 gets under and around things the X8 has to go back for.
- If you have a lot of hard floor, neither X-series upright switches its brush off; an Airbelt canister with a parquet brush is the right SEBO for that house.
- If you prefer a manual height dial with the same 15-inch width, the Essential G5 is that machine.

Warranty, shipping and returns
Because Avon Vacuums is a SEBO Medalist dealer, the X8 you buy here and register with SEBO is covered for 10 years on the motor, 10 years on non-wear parts and 7 years on labor, instead of SEBO's standard residential 7 years motor, 5 years non-wear parts and 5 years labor. Brush rollers, belts, bags and filters are wear items and are not covered. Shipping is free to the contiguous U.S. on orders of $75 or more, so the X8 ships free, and most orders go out within 2 to 3 business days. We take returns within 30 days if the machine is factory-sealed and unused, and the buyer covers the return shipping; an opened X8 with a defect is handled through SEBO's warranty with our help.
Questions customers ask us
Is the cleaning path really 15 inches?
The head is 15 inches wide and SEBO lists the cleaning path at 14.5 inches, since the housing takes up a little of the width.
Does the wider head need a bigger motor?
No. The X8 uses the same 1300-watt suction motor and electronic motor protection as the X7, rated at 100.2 CFM and 91.5 inches of water lift.
Can the brush be turned off for hard floors?
No. Like the X7, the X8 cannot clean without the powerhead engaged. It lifts on hard floor but keeps spinning.
What bags does it take?
The same 1.4-gallon bags as the rest of the SEBO X and G uprights. We sell them in the shop and online.
