Expert Help Before & After Purchase

Why Buy From Avon Vacuums

Family-owned in Avon, CT since 1972, Avon Vacuums is an authorized Miele dealer and a SEBO Medalist dealer. Medalist status means SEBO extends its warranty on machines bought here to 10 years on the motor, 10 years on parts and 7 years on labor once the machine is registered. Eligible purchases receive the applicable manufacturer warranty; coverage varies by product and model, so contact us when you need the exact terms before ordering.

Miele and SEBO set the prices their authorized dealers follow, so the price you see here is the price you'll see at any authorized dealer. What differs is who stands behind the machine. We sell it, we service it in our own shop, and you're welcome to try any model in our Avon, CT showroom before you decide. If another authorized dealer shows you a lower price, call us and we will match it. Questions? Call (860) 678-0011.

Parts, Bags & Accessories

We carry genuine OEM bags, filters and accessories for brands including Miele, SEBO and VacuMaid, plus clearly labeled aftermarket options such as Clean Obsessed. Match the model and part number before ordering, or call (860) 678-0011 for compatibility help.

Care & Maintenance

A well-maintained vacuum lasts decades. Replace bags before they're full, change filters according to the manufacturer schedule, and check the brushroll for tangled hair and debris monthly. We offer in-house service and repair for every brand we sell — bring your vacuum in for a diagnostic evaluation, with no appointment needed during business hours.

Shipping & Store Pickup

Most orders process within 2–3 business days. Select items may ship directly from a manufacturer; we’ll contact you if fulfillment timing changes. Eligible vacuum bag-only and other merchandise orders of $75+ ship free within the contiguous U.S. Mixed-cart shipping is calculated at checkout. Pickup timing is confirmed by our Avon team. See our shipping policy and return policy.

Description

The unit for people who would rather empty a bucket than buy a bag

Cyclonic inverted-bag filtration is what sets the SR14 apart: VacuMaid's 5.7-inch Ultra two-stage flow-through motor in a 39-7/8-inch can, rated for homes up to 6,000 square feet, with no bags to buy. Debris spins out of the airstream and drops into the 27-quart can, and the inverted bag hangs above it as a barrier filter, so emptying is a matter of dropping the can and carrying it to the curb. Plan for it the way you plan for a water heater: it is the height that decides where it lives, not the width.

At a glance

Best matchHomes up to 6,000 square feet with a tall enough basement or garage wall and an owner who does not want to keep bags in stock.
Fits / works withStandard central vacuum piping, new or existing; we verify the run and the inlet count against the 6,000-square-foot rating before the unit ships.

In the boxOne VacuMaid SR14 Inverted Bag Central Vacuum - 5.7" Ultra 2-Stage Flow-Thru Motor

Why we like it

  • No bags to buy. The cyclonic action does the separating and the inverted bag catches what is left, so the running cost is close to nothing.
  • 740 air watts and 138 CFM, the same Ultra motor output as the SR38, in the inverted-bag format.
  • 58 dB with a vented exhaust, which is quiet for a unit with this much pull.
  • The 27-quart can takes a lot of dirt before it needs to go out, and a full can is obvious when you look at it.

Think twice if

  • Your mounting wall is short. At 39-7/8 inches tall the SR14 needs more height than the SR38, which has the same motor in a 23-3/8-inch can with a sealed bag.
  • Someone in the house has dust allergies and will be doing the emptying. A sealed disposable bag is kinder; look at the SR38 or SR66.
  • You are not sure the pipe run is sound. We install and inspect across the Farmington Valley, and an inverted-bag unit on a leaky pipe run will underperform no matter how many air watts it has.

Questions customers ask us

How does the inverted bag work?

Air and debris enter the can and spin; the heavy material falls to the bottom and the inverted bag, hanging above it, filters what stays in the air. You empty the can and the bag stays in place.

How often do I empty it?

The can holds 27 quarts. For most homes that is every few months; with pets, check it monthly for the first year to learn your own rhythm.

What is the electrical draw?

120 volts at 14.5 amps, so plan a dedicated 15-amp circuit at the mounting location.

Can I vent the exhaust outside?

Yes, and we recommend it. The 58 dB rating assumes a vented exhaust, and we run the vent during installation.
