Why Buy From Avon Vacuums
Why Buy From Avon Vacuums
Family-owned in Avon, CT since 1972, Avon Vacuums is an authorized Miele dealer and a SEBO Medalist dealer. Medalist status means SEBO extends its warranty on machines bought here to 10 years on the motor, 10 years on parts and 7 years on labor once the machine is registered. Eligible purchases receive the applicable manufacturer warranty; coverage varies by product and model, so contact us when you need the exact terms before ordering.
Miele and SEBO set the prices their authorized dealers follow, so the price you see here is the price you'll see at any authorized dealer. What differs is who stands behind the machine. We sell it, we service it in our own shop, and you're welcome to try any model in our Avon, CT showroom before you decide. If another authorized dealer shows you a lower price, call us and we will match it. Questions? Call (860) 678-0011.

An 8.4-inch motor that wants a breaker to itself
Largest of the single-motor 120-volt units we carry from VacuMaid, the SR60 pairs an 8.4-inch tangential bypass motor with a 38-quart can 16-1/8 inches across and 43-1/2 inches tall, and a rating of up to 12,000 square feet. It draws 15 amps, which is the whole of a standard 15-amp breaker, so it gets a circuit to itself the way a window air conditioner should. Output is 760 air watts, 137 CFM and 150 inches of water lift, the highest water lift of the 120-volt units we carry. Collection is cyclonic with an inverted bag.
At a glance
| Best match | Very large houses with long pipe runs and many inlets, where water lift matters more than airflow and the mechanical room has height and a dedicated circuit. |
|---|---|
| Fits / works with | Extensive central vacuum pipe networks, including multi-story runs and long branch lines; we review the layout before shipping because this unit is often chosen to overcome a difficult pipe route. |
| Part number | SR60 |
| In the box | One VacuMaid SR60 Inverted Bag Central Vacuum - 8.4" 2-Stage Tangential By-Pass Motor |
Why we like it
- 150 inches of water lift is what pulls through a pipe run that climbs three floors and then doubles back to the far wing.
- The 38-quart can holds roughly 40 percent more than the 27-quart units, which matters in a house that generates a lot of debris.
- Inverted-bag collection means the running cost is the electricity and nothing else.
- 68 dB with a vented exhaust is reasonable for a motor this size; vent it and mount it away from bedrooms and you will be fine.
Think twice if
- Your house is under 9,500 square feet with an ordinary pipe run. The SR46 covers it at 14 amps in a smaller can.
- You have 240-volt service near the mounting spot. The SR62 is the same 8.4-inch motor at 240 volts and 9.6 amps, with more air watts.
- You are planning to mount it yourself. The can alone is 16-1/8 inches across and 43-1/2 inches tall, and it needs clearance below to drop. We install across the Farmington Valley and bring the bracket.

Questions customers ask us
Does the SR60 need a dedicated circuit?
Yes. At 15 amps on 120 volts it uses the full rating of a 15-amp breaker, so nothing else should share it. Most installs get a 20-amp dedicated circuit.
How big is it?
16-1/8 inches in diameter and 43-1/2 inches high, with a 38-quart dirt capacity. Measure the wall height before you order.
How does it compare with the SR62?
Same motor size, same can, same 12,000-square-foot rating. The SR62 runs on 240 volts at 9.6 amps and lists 775 air watts and 154 CFM; the SR60 stays on 120 volts at 15 amps with 760 air watts and the higher 150-inch water lift.
Can I vent it outside?
Yes, and with a 68 dB rating we would insist on it for any unit within earshot of living space. We run the vent during installation.
