Why Buy From Avon Vacuums
Why Buy From Avon Vacuums
Family-owned in Avon, CT since 1972, Avon Vacuums is an authorized Miele dealer and a SEBO Medalist dealer. Medalist status means SEBO extends its warranty on machines bought here to 10 years on the motor, 10 years on parts and 7 years on labor once the machine is registered. Eligible purchases receive the applicable manufacturer warranty; coverage varies by product and model, so contact us when you need the exact terms before ordering.
Miele and SEBO set the prices their authorized dealers follow, so the price you see here is the price you'll see at any authorized dealer. What differs is who stands behind the machine. We sell it, we service it in our own shop, and you're welcome to try any model in our Avon, CT showroom before you decide. If another authorized dealer shows you a lower price, call us and we will match it. Questions? Call (860) 678-0011.

The SR60's motor on 240 volts, running cooler on half the amps
Take the SR60's 8.4-inch tangential bypass motor, wire it for 240 volts, and you have the SR62: the same 16-1/8-inch can, the same 38-quart capacity and 12,000-square-foot rating, but a draw of 9.6 amps instead of 15. Running a motor at 240 volts is like wiring a well pump for 240: the current drops, the wire runs cooler and the motor tends to be happier for it. Output is listed at 775 air watts, 154 CFM and 141 inches of water lift, with cyclonic inverted-bag collection and a 68 dB sound rating.
At a glance
| Best match | Large houses with 240-volt service available at the mounting location, where the owner wants a single-motor unit with the most airflow VacuMaid offers on one motor. |
|---|---|
| Fits / works with | Extensive central vacuum pipe networks; we confirm the pipe layout and inlet count before shipping, and your electrician confirms the 240-volt circuit. |

Why we like it
- 154 CFM on a single motor is the most airflow of the single-motor units we carry, which shows up as steady suction at the far end of a long run.
- 9.6 amps at 240 volts leaves headroom on the circuit and runs the motor cooler than the 15-amp 120-volt version.
- The 38-quart can with inverted-bag collection goes a long time between trips to the curb.
- The 8.4-inch bypass motor keeps dirty air away from the windings, the design we trust for long service.
Think twice if
- You have no 240-volt circuit near the mounting wall. The SR60 is the same motor and can on 120 volts at 15 amps.
- Your house is under 9,500 square feet. The SR46 costs less, runs on a 14-amp 120-volt circuit and still has inverted-bag collection.
- You were planning to vent the exhaust into the basement. At 68 dB it needs to go outside; we install across the Farmington Valley and run the vent as part of the job.

Questions customers ask us
Is the SR62 a 120-volt unit?
No. It is wired for 240 volts at 9.6 amps and needs a dedicated 240-volt circuit installed by an electrician before we hang it.
What is the advantage over the SR60?
Same motor, same can, same rating. The SR62 lists 775 air watts and 154 CFM against 760 and 137 for the SR60, and it draws 9.6 amps rather than 15. The SR60 lists more water lift, 150 inches versus 141.
How much does it hold?
38 quarts in a can 16-1/8 inches across and 43-1/2 inches tall, with cyclonic inverted-bag filtration.
Do you handle the electrical?
We coordinate with your electrician for the 240-volt circuit and do the mounting, piping, exhaust and testing ourselves across the Farmington Valley. Call (860) 678-0011.
