Expert Help Before & After Purchase

Why Buy From Avon Vacuums

Family-owned in Avon, CT since 1972, Avon Vacuums is an authorized Miele dealer and a SEBO Medalist dealer. Medalist status means SEBO extends its warranty on machines bought here to 10 years on the motor, 10 years on parts and 7 years on labor once the machine is registered. Eligible purchases receive the applicable manufacturer warranty; coverage varies by product and model, so contact us when you need the exact terms before ordering.

Miele and SEBO set the prices their authorized dealers follow, so the price you see here is the price you'll see at any authorized dealer. What differs is who stands behind the machine. We sell it, we service it in our own shop, and you're welcome to try any model in our Avon, CT showroom before you decide. If another authorized dealer shows you a lower price, call us and we will match it. Questions? Call (860) 678-0011.

Parts, Bags & Accessories

We carry genuine OEM bags, filters and accessories for brands including Miele, SEBO and VacuMaid, plus clearly labeled aftermarket options such as Clean Obsessed. Match the model and part number before ordering, or call (860) 678-0011 for compatibility help.

Care & Maintenance

A well-maintained vacuum lasts decades. Replace bags before they're full, change filters according to the manufacturer schedule, and check the brushroll for tangled hair and debris monthly. We offer in-house service and repair for every brand we sell — bring your vacuum in for a diagnostic evaluation, with no appointment needed during business hours.

Shipping & Store Pickup

Most orders process within 2–3 business days. Select items may ship directly from a manufacturer; we’ll contact you if fulfillment timing changes. Eligible vacuum bag-only and other merchandise orders of $75+ ship free within the contiguous U.S. Mixed-cart shipping is calculated at checkout. Pickup timing is confirmed by our Avon team. See our shipping policy and return policy.

Description

Two motors, 240 volts, and a rating that covers a small inn

Two 5.7-inch tangential bypass motors share one 16-1/8-inch can in the SR64, VacuMaid's dual-motor residential unit, rated for up to 18,000 square feet and wired for 240 volts at 13 amps, which is a dryer circuit rather than a lamp cord. Together the motors produce 1,040 air watts and 220 CFM, and the two-motor layout is a bit like two-zone heating, moving air through a sprawling pipe network that one motor would struggle with. Collection is cyclonic with an inverted bag in a 38-quart can. At 74 dB it belongs in a mechanical room with a vented exhaust.

At a glance

Best matchEstates, large multi-story houses and small inns with many inlets and long branch runs, where a 240-volt circuit is already available or easily added.
Fits / works withLarge central vacuum pipe networks with multiple branches; we review the full layout before shipping because an 18,000-square-foot rating assumes properly sized pipe throughout.

Why we like it

  • 220 CFM is the airflow number. That is what keeps suction at the far inlet when the pipe run is long and the hose is 35 feet.
  • Two motors at 240 volts draw 13 amps total, less than a single large motor on 120 volts.
  • Inverted-bag collection in a 38-quart can: no bags to stock for a house that fills cans quickly.
  • The tangential bypass design keeps both motors out of the dirty airstream, which is what you want in a unit meant to outlast the roof.

Think twice if

  • Your house is under 12,000 square feet. The SR60 or SR62 covers it with one motor and less noise.
  • There is no 240-volt circuit near the mounting wall and running one is impractical. Stay with the 120-volt units.
  • The only mounting spot is next to finished space. At 74 dB even a vented SR64 is audible through a wall; we install across the Farmington Valley and will help pick a better location.

Warranty, shipping and returns

Manufacturer warranty applies, and we handle the claim with you. Central vacuum power units ship by freight for a flat $49 to the contiguous U.S., with most orders leaving within 2 to 3 business days. We accept factory-sealed, unused units back within 30 days; the buyer pays return freight. An installed unit is a warranty matter we handle with the manufacturer on your behalf.

Questions customers ask us

Why two motors instead of one big one?

Two 5.7-inch motors together produce 1,040 air watts and 220 CFM, more airflow than any single-motor unit we carry. Airflow is what holds suction across a long pipe network with many inlets.

What electrical supply does it need?

240 volts at 13 amps on a dedicated circuit. This is electrician work, not something to run off an existing outlet.

How loud is it?

74 dB with the exhaust vented. It needs a mechanical room or garage wall away from bedrooms, and the exhaust should go outside.

How big is the can?

16-1/8 inches in diameter and 42-3/8 inches high, with 38 quarts of capacity and cyclonic inverted-bag filtration.
